Using Pinterest As An Author

Like a lot of creatives, I’m a visual person. I like to see things, to have a picture I can refer to when my brain just isn’t conjuring one up for me. Whether it’s a particular location I’m trying to describe, or how a specific character looks. Having an image helps kicks things into gear for me.
This is where Pinterest comes in handy.

I use Pinterest for so many things related to my writing. It’s a way for me to get ideas of how characters should look, to help me world build, to plan imaginary weddings. That last part is the best, because then I can any kind of wedding I want, and it can be as extravagant as I’d like with no expense spared. Because, let me tell you, I have caviar dreams on a Cheetos budget (my characters do get gorgeous weddings)!
Disclaimer: I’ve kind of neglected my boards as of late. So, I stripped down everything and started revamping it all. I’m working on it, but some of the boards are a little… bare. It’s a work in progress, but I’m loving the overall aesthetic. :)

See, I have a board for each of my books and they include those things I mentioned. The characters, the world building, the weddings. And, up until a few months ago, they were looking pretty rough. Now, my boards are filling up with book-specific pins, including those that represent key moments and scenes in that book’s board. Not to mention, I’ve created have pretty board covers for all of them (which I think helps). lol
What do you use for inspiration? If you are a Pinterest lover like me, drop the link to your profile in the comments below. I’d love to see your boards! :)
Until next time,
