A Day in the Life

There’s a phrase I hear quite a bit from other authors. It always strikes me as funny, because – many times – it feels like an accurate statement. Mainly because I’m usually busy promoting a book, or writing one. Or doing group takeovers. Or research. You get the idea. Anyway, the question…. When do you sleep?? The truth of the matter is, there are nights I don’t sleep much…if at all. There are plenty of reasons behind this. Insomnia is a big one. Too much to do, not enough hours in the day. When you’re working full time, raising teenagers, running a house, and trying to write your next novel, things pile up in a rapid fashion. And sometimes, the night hours are the only chance I have to get

Me+You Author Interview: Caitlyn Lynch

Pool Party For Two by Caitlyn Lynch There’s a beautiful woman in Cameron Slater’s swimming pool. He’s not impressed. A wealthy businessman comes home in the middle of the day because the heatwave has caused a power grid crash and even he can't work in a building with no power. He arrives home to find a gorgeous young woman in his swimming pool. Discovering she’s the housekeeper his PA hired and he’s never actually met is rather a surprise! An Interview with Caitlyn 1) What is your favorite genre to write? Oh, that’s a tough one – I love Regency romance, but I also love contemporary, particularly romantic suspense. I’m a multiple personality type; don’t make me choose! 2) Do you be

Behind the Scenes of Small Town Hearts

The books of my Small Town Hearts trilogy were my debut into the wonderful, crazy world of romance writing. What many people, outside of my local readers, don't realize is my town is the basis for the fictional town in which my characters live. In fact, I've had locals come to me and tell me they recognized parts of the town or the people portrayed in the books. It was even better when the people got excited because they recognized themselves. I had plenty of small town charm to draw from for these stories. The house where Lynn's parents live, tucked back into the woods, is based on my parents' home. Kari's café is a real place (one I order from about once a week and has excellent food!). Bo

Me+You Author Interview: Rebekah Dodson

Snapshot by Rebekah Dodson A road trip of a lifetime became a snapshot of the rest of their lives One day to remember forever, one trip to last a lifetime. Life has a way of throwing you curve balls. Dirty laundry, bad boyfriends, and a car breaking down. I thought I had been dealt the worst cards possible, then I got the call that would change it all. My brother had tried to kill himself and I had to get to him now. Jeremiah is my only hope. I have a secret, and I don't know how to tell Georgia. She's been my best friend since I started college, but this could change everything. When she calls me and asks for a ride when her car breaks down, I don't expect the interception we have t

Three Little Words

There are times where the whole writing thing is overwhelming. Days where I wonder if it’ll ever be what I want it to be, if it’s worth all the time, frustration, and tears. These are the times when three little words cross my mind. They aren’t ‘I love you’. Or ‘what the hell?’ (though that one crosses my mind, multiple times, daily). They aren’t even a string of the swear words that slip through my lips at any point in a given day. The three little words that could destroy everything are these: I give up. When I put everything I have into an idea, and it falls flat, I think these words. If I put my heart and soul into a book, and it seems like nobody cares, I feel these words. Deep down ins
